making films like games

this is not a serious post. leave me alone

congratulations on selling your script, you're making a film! film is an advanced artistic medium now - you no longer have to grind your own lenses from scratch, like in the 80s and 90s. here's a lens you can license from someone else.

you have to build your own camera body, of course. you can't really take one camera body from one film to another - it just doesn't work like that. also you have to build your own cranes, tracks, focusers, viewfinders, etc.

whew! now you can see something, good stuff. what's next - ah right, actors. well you have to find an actor that has never been in any other film before, ever. and be ready to sew each costume by hand, too.

time to go to location? no. backlot? haha, no. every single scene has to be on a hand built set. sorry, those are the rules. you can use matte paintings, though some people will build an actual mountain in the distance.

great, you've shot your film. now, ADR every line of dialog and foley every single sound effect.

time to edit! thankfully you can find a pre-built editing bay, but you need to spend a lot of time making sure the film you hand-made or digital file format you hand-created works with that editing bay. this will get easier with experience.

wow! what a lot of work, but now you have a film. time to go to the theater – right after you build your own projector :)
