The Zenobia Award is a sort of incubator program of history board games from marginalized developers, and the second round has completed, awarding a 'winner' to The Porters.

The Porters, by Lucas Cockburn, Neco Cockburn, and Alex Goss. This game covers the story of Black porters on Canadian railways working to organize unions. Judges praised the clever design, the unique and compelling theme, and the game’s original balance of organizing a labor movement all while having to work a tiring, full-time job.

Cat Manning, narrative director on Civilization 7, has written a neat dev diary on how the narrative system in the game will work, both to add new ideas to the Civilization formula and better integrating older ones.

Matt Carney writes on Pentiment, parenting, and the distortion of your experience of time and your place in history.

Laura Michet extolls the many virtues and practical benefits of working with union voice actors.

MSD has a wonderful collection of moon photos; I really should pull out the telescope and shoot some lunar shots on film sometime.

Game releases to keep an eye out on: Harris Powell-Smith's Honor Bound and Freehold Games' Caves of Qud.
